Bean Philosophy
A poem about friendship and trust
My friend Angie is a professional cook. An amazing one though I’ve never tasted her food. My evidence is her wisdom. She’s searing and pressure-cooking some beef before it spoils. Angie hates wasting food. She says dinner prep for her parents tonight an impromptu white bean chili may involve a little chaos. My cooking always involves a little chaos. Seasoning is a battle of wits and I’ve lost a few. I think the pressure cooker is the modern microwave a miracle for meat and beans. I wonder if air-fried garbanzo beans know they’re delicious. I’ll have to ask Angie. She’d know.
